Part of it could be attributed to the passage of time and their growth together as a couple, but Hinata felt that Hatsuko had changed him as well.

The early morning rays of light broke over the mountain and teased Shouyou’s eyelids open. He blinked slowly, the sight of blonde hair and fluffy ears startling him. He had forgotten where he was which is why he was momentarily surprised to find himself wrapped up in Atsumu’s arms. Shouyou snuggled against him, relishing in the few moments of peace before the memories of the previous day crashed around him.

A rustling noise from the couch caught Atsumu’s attention and he crept into the living room to investigate. He peeked over the couch and his expression immediately softened at the sight of his son’s sleeping form, tufts of tawny hair and chubby cheeks poking out above the blanket. He watched the steady rise and fall of his chest, listening to his breath pass through parted lips. Atsumu reached out to gently caress his soft tawny hair, it was an unruly mass of curls, just like Shouyou.
OR: Atsumu is a good dad, he just needed to hear it.

“Are you jealous Osamu?” Shouyou teased, his eyes filled with mirth.
Atsumu blinked, remembering how Shouyou had asked him the same thing less than a year ago. Things had changed between them over the course of their year of friendship. They spent almost all of their free time together, Atsumu no longer hung around Oikawa and while Shouyou did make other friends, he only spent time with them in his classes. Somewhere along the way, Atsumu had gone from “Osamu-san” to just “Osamu” and “Shouyou” to “Shou.” Somewhere along the way, Atsumu had fallen hard.
“Shit.” Atsumu wanted to slap himself. He realized he’d unknowingly joined the ranks of one of Shouyou’s enamored princes.
