Once upon a time, my amazing artist friend Phindus, who was tired of ship wars and all of their nonsense, said "I'd ship Alfons with anyone and make it work!", and a crack comic of Alfons Heiderich leaping across universes to end up with Major Miles wound up being much less cracky than intended.

The basic premise of the universe is that Alfons gets yanked through one of the portals in the film, but he gets slingshotted into the Brotherhood version of Amestris instead of the '03 one. Roy saves him from an immediate and unceremonious execution for being some sort of unknown-language-speaking probable-traitor, and a bit of medical alchemy fixes up his lungs, but then they ship him up to Briggs to have Olivier keep an eye on him in case he turns out to be some sort of traitor after all. (Alex Armstrong escorts him north, and en route they run into Ed – but not Alfons's Ed; an Ed who is a stranger that looks like somebody he knows.)

And then Miles gets assigned the job of monitoring him, and there is ~*~ship magic~*~. ♥

I wrote a lot of the pieces out of order as different scenes came to mind – I've done my best to put them into story-order, but depending on your preference, opening them in chronological order by their post date may be more fun! :)
