Peter shifted around uncomfortably, looking at himself in the mirror, busying himself with trying to figure out his bowtie. His fingers fumbled a little bit as he worked with it. Quentin came up behind him and reached around to adjust it, leaning own to talk into Peter's ear.
"It's fine. Don't fuss so much."
Peter met Quentin's eyes in the mirror. "Are you sure this is gonna be okay, Quentin? Like...no one's gonna know, right?"
Quentin chuckled. He put his hands on Peter's shoulders and squeezed them reassuringly. "I designed it to be silent. You'll be able to hear it a little. We tested it, remember?"

"You're still holding back, Felix," Dimitri said, voice low, speaking the words just next to Felix's ear.
Felix jerked his head away. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm not holding back."
Dimitri's free hand reached around and grabbed Felix's chin, jerking his face back where it was. He didn't bother being gentle about it, though of course he was always keeping his considerable strength in check. Felix gritted his teeth and resisted, but even with that restraint, he couldn't do anything other than what Dimitri wanted.
"We both know that isn't true," Dimitri said.
