Summary
Byleth has lived for centuries, hopping from one life to the next, since the end of the War. She finds herself in Enbarr, working as a curator for the Imperial Palace - a National Museum the nation has reclaimed from its arrogant rulers. While there, she visits a solitary candle placed on the floor of the Throne Room on the anniversary of the worst day of her life.

Through her heavy breaths, Edelgard pants, “There you go, again…my teacher… Hesitating…”
She looks up, finally, to see a completely different Byleth standing before her. No Sword of the Creator, shorter, styled hair, strange-looking clothes. And completely dumbfounded.
“Professor… What’s going on?”

Summary
Being thrown into such a different world in the blink of an eye is daunting, even for someone as strong as Edelgard. But, this is also Silver Snow!Edelgard. By the time she and Byleth had their final confrontation, she had effectively lost everybody that she cared about: either they had joined the enemy side and hated her, or they had died trying to protect her. And the heart can only take so much loss.
Byleth has been living with the guilt of her actions for 850 years. She finally has a chance to make things right, but the path will be a long and challenging one.
