I did research for this series - and remain connected to the community to this day - but though I did draw on some elements of reality, the rest is entirely fantasy and may even be construed as offensive to those involved in the lifestyle.

Also, I consulted a native German speaker for help, but there are still plenty of errors in the German that are entirely my responsibility. In my defense, WK itself is rather known for its horrible German, lol.
