The edge glints silver in the fluorescent light as if it were white-hot, sharpened to perfection. Just enough pressure and flesh will give way in a delicate slash, weeping ruby droplets that will transform Suigetsu’s skin into artwork.
Karin doesn’t plan to draw blood this time. If Suigetsu is bloodied, it will be because he lacked the restraint to keep still—the restraint to obey her.

It’s a fitting excuse, experimentation. The act has become almost synonymous with his name, and certainly his reputation. Orochimaru mulls over the word itself, unsatisfied. The scope of an ‘experiment’ still feels much too broad to apply to his current endeavor—it might be best to define it.
His fingers dance along the spine of the notebook selected for his case notes; an aimless gesture, but one that helps him focus. Glancing at his reflection in the full-length mirror on the opposite wall, the decision is simple. Orochimaru will call this experiment ‘A Mirrored Study of Nonstandard Shadow Clone Deployment.’
