A year has passed since the events that put an end to the life of the Sect Leader Jin. A year quite peaceful, as if the world had decided to forget what was wrong and concentrated on moving forward without looking back. A year during which many things are forgiven to Wei Wuxian and his life seems to be heading in the right direction only. A year during which Lan Xichen is in seclusion. But everything must come to an end.

Zewu-Jun decides to return to normal life, knowing that he will soon face many unpleasant questions. It seems, however, that new energy has entered him, which will allow him to accept it all with stoic calm.

Jiang Wanyin slowly accepts the awareness that he can no longer watch over Jin Ling. His nephew must start to cope with life without his constant support, which only adds to the man's bitterness, which is not missing in his life.

Lan Xichen discovers that he may have missed a true friendship.
Jiang Cheng sees that he is the most lonely man in the world.

Behind their backs, however, something seems to move. A poison that cannot be escaped.
