Summary
As the Traveller pelted off with their strange fairy friend to check a set of crates closer to the Inn, Jiangxue slowly relaxed his tightened grip on the fishing rod. The Traveller’s companion remained, smiling faintly. Mercilessly. Jiangxue did not recognise the handsome, young-looking man before him, or the rich cut of his long coat with the scale-tipped hem, but he remembered those ruthless eyes. He’d last seen them as large as Xiao lanterns, inset into a gigantic muzzle over arching tusks. A long time ago; another lifetime ago.
“Yanwang Dijun,” Jiangxue whispered, dropping his gaze.
“Fushe,” said a God in response, his smile curling wider. “It has been quite a while.” Yanwang Dijun reached forward with a gloved hand, tilting up Jiangxue’s chin. “You look well.”

Summary
Getting up to the floating pavilion when Jiangxue could no longer will himself into existence wherever he wanted had been a bit of a trial. It helped that someone had recently reactivated most of the floating platforms. The final step was still beyond him, though. As Jiangxue stared ruefully at the anemo pillar that would unlock the way up for those not blessed with the power of flight, a voice behind him said, “What are you doing here?”
Jiangxue turned. Xiao folded his arms across his slender chest, lifting his chin. “Fulfilling a curiosity,” Jiangxue said.
“About Dijun? He won’t view any further breaches of his privacy kindly.”
