Summary
In March of 1862, a librarian and his nandroid both enlisted in the 12th South Carolina Infantry Regiment to fight for the recently formed Confederate States of America.
Over the course of the spring and summer, Dixie went from being a simple flagbearer to the mascot of the Southern army, not anticipating her fame to paint a target on the back of her wooden head.

Summary
After a century long slumber in the Idaho soil, the rotten body of an old clockwork nandroid is unearthed and delivered to a small robot repair shop in Providence, Rhode Island. To restore her to working condition was thought to be impossible, given how decrepit she looked.
Little do her new acquaintances know of her involvement in the great Civil War, or her rivalry-turned-friendship with the most famous nandroid in American history.
