Summary
After the confrontation with Honobono in the club, Doppo takes Hifumi home to take care of him.

You need to take him home.
That’s all you can think about. You need to take him home where he’ll be safe, away from the club where you always worried about him anyway and where now your worst fears have played out. You know of course that home hasn’t exactly been safe for him either… but at least there you can lock the door and run the bath and make him tea and. And. And you might not be any more use to him there than you were here, but you can feel a little less powerless, at least.

After Honobono's attack reopens old wounds, Hifumi needs Doppo's help to get things to heal right this time around.

“Together,” you repeat. “I’ll do anything for you as long as we’re doing it together. Okay?”
“Yeah. Of course. Thank you.” He closes his eyes and laughs, but it’s lighter than before and crinkles around the edges. Like something real. Like a delicate crystal glass shattering. “And ‘cos it’s us, it might be kind of messy, okay? Like, I might cry, or scream? And I want you to keep going if I do.”
“There’s no way I can do that.”
“I know. I know, but try for me, okay? I’m not crying because of you. It’s just because of the things that didn’t heal right then. And I need you here with me to get it right this time. Just stay with me. Can you do that?”
