This ficlet is set in the First Year universe. If you've not read the original FY and the subsequent six wee ficlets, I invite you to do so since the context and references are much better understood by a reader who is caught up. Frankly, you'll be clueless if you don't. FY was written in real time in the 2020-2021 academic year (Claire and Jamie are faculty, not students) and this ficlet continues that tradition.
