“Sweetheart, you’re cherished, aren’t you,” Enmu grins, slipping into mock imitation of Tanjiro: “Hey babe, wondering where you are. I don’t want you worrying all by yourself.” And he signed it off with kisses. He must be worried. Now, what to reply to that. Any thoughts?”
The bastard was enjoying himself.
Zen doesn’t say anything. Enmu moves closer, the phone turned so Zenitsu can make out Tanjiro’s words through his tears; the other hand holding the knife while Enmu curls two fingers across Zen’s cheek, wiping away his tears.
“D-don’t,” he pleads. “Hmm?”
“Don’t touch me,” Zenitsu says; a shuddering breath held between them when Enmu’s lips curl into a fond smile, rolling his eyes. “Darling, “don’t touch me,” isn’t something you’d reply with. Come on now.” He taps his finger against Zen’s cheek, the cold touch of the knife pushed closer to his neck.
“We’re playing a game, and it has rules. I’m sure you know what’ll happen if you break a rule…” he whispers, Zenitsu whimpering when he feels the blade against his throat, scraping over the blood from where Enmu has already cut him.He could so easily kill him, and there was nothing he could do.

Summary
Tanjiro and Zenitsu have been friends longer than they’ve been dating. The transition was… something, but now they’re dating. They’re boyfriends.
While in the early stages of figuring out their footing with one another, they had decided for now that it would be best kept quiet from their friends, at least to avoid their ribbing if nothing else. It requires a little sneaking around, but there’s something thrilling about running hand in hand away from members of their gang when they stumble across a familiar face while out on a date.
Sometimes the faces they see are familiar, but they're definitely not friendly.Where Tanjiro and Zenitsu are interrupted on their date and kisses make everything better.
