Summary
Dean didn’t like charity or feeling like people pitied him.
“I’m blind, not helpless you idiot!” Benny still remembered the words he’d walked in on Dean saying that first day at the diner. Benny would never forget them, but it was still hard reigning in his emotions and impulses when Dean tripped or didn’t notice an oddly placed hole in the ground.
But Dean did just fine on his own and Benny respected his wishes to be left alone. But it didn’t always stop him from making silent gestures.

Dean groaned and wiped the sweat from his brow. The sun was beating down hard on the city, roasting every object and body caught outside in its burning rays. But even with the temperature that was surely reaching well past a hundred, people filed in and out of Singer Salvage like it was Church on Sunday morning.
Car engines were overheating, air conditioners needed fixing. Anything and everything that could possibly go wrong through the heat wave was happening every minute and the shop could barely keep up. It was the main reason Bobby had called Dean in. He could use the help, especially from his blind, semi-adopted son (through popular opinion.)

But with a wild ride came rough patches.
