Summary
What happens after a person graduates for Hogwarts? Dennis Creevey departed to find out what the world held for him. However, he comes across a mystery and a silently suffering ghost at Hogwarts on the day he returns to make private farewells. Furthermore, his parents wonder what he is going to do with the rest of his life, and solving an old puzzle does not look like it will pay the bills. Added to this is the fact neither he nor his parents ever properly dealt with the death of his brother, Colin. The outside world seems more complicated than Dennis first imagines.
[Technically a prequel to the Wizarding World War Z tales, but the story equally stands alone.]

Summary
Assisting ghosts is never a straight forward endeavor. Dennis' work with both Peeves and Lord Thomas North did not go unnoticed by a number of people, including the Ministry of Magic. Keeping the secrets of the long since departed becomes trickier than the young wizard ever imagined. Moreover, failure to keep his own personal secret lands Dennis in considerable trouble with almost everyone. Forces both known and unknown seem to be lining up against. It's time for Dennis to make serious decisions that will affect the rest of his life.

Summary

Dennis experiences one of the most important events in the life of most witches and wizards. His brother is there to egg him on, and his mother tries to keep an eye on him.

Summary
Since it first landed in his hands, the Heptagon plagued Dennis Creevey. Simply holding onto it cost him on a deeply personal level. Moreover, people tried to kill him over it. Thus, Dennis seeks a way to end his ownership over the dreaded device. His search for answers takes him far afield, deeper into ancient libraries, and further into harm's way. Moreover, Dennis gets dragged into a world he does not understand and needs to navigate if he wishes to get out alive. It becomes a lesson in magic he never wished to learn.

Summary
This chapter got removed from Through the Fire as the story already ran very long.
The story gives a view into the world of free elves as Dennis got invited to a special day following the birth of his elf friends' (Chet and Nedwina) daughter. It forces Dennis to confront some uncomfortable truths about the wizarding world and how he plans to make some sort of amends. It also gives insight into Dennis' personality and how he views the wizarding world in general.
Although I loved writing this chapter and really wanted to include it in the main story, it ultimately felt just too one-off and added almost nine thousand more words to the story. Fortunately, this piece really sort of works as a short story. It is too good, in my opinion, to simply toss in the trash bin.

Summary
NOTE: Triggers regarding bullying, death, sexuality, and indirect mentions of suicide are found in the second half of novel.
Dennis enters his fifth year at Hogwarts still reeling from the death of his brother, Colin, the previous spring during the Battle of Hogwarts. On top of dealing with his grief, Dennis is confronted with his sexuality. He becomes interested in another student, and situations begin to develop. Dennis' life takes unexpected turns, especially with Peeves the Poltergeist, as he tries to regain some order to his life.
