Outside of the taxi, at Minghao’s front door, Minghao fumbles with his keys. Seungkwan leans against the doorframe and fingers at the shoulder of Minghao’s coat.
“You’re sure you don’t mind me being here?” Seungkwan asks.Minghao freezes with his hand on the doorknob and looks at Seungkwan. He’s drunker than Minghao, red all the way down to his neck. There’s glitter in his hair that Minghao doesn’t remember from the beginning of the night, a slick shimmer in Seunkwan’s sweat-damp hair.
“Little late to ask, don’t you think?” Minghao jokes.

"Jihoon is sweating, his face red and blotchy below the hat his mom forced on him this morning. The heater in his dad’s car is on full blast. Usually he’d be in the passenger’s seat with his window cracked flipping through radio stations until he found a song that didn’t annoy him. Today is not normal. Today his father had declared that they’d be giving their new neighbor a ride home from school. Jihoon is now sequestered to the back of the car with this kid, sandwiched in the middle seat between him and his dad’s stack of bowling equipment.
This is not the first time of the day that Soonyoung has rudely interrupted his routine. Their teacher had announced Soonyoung’s late entry to their class first thing that morning. Jihoon had looked at the empty desk next to him and internally groaned. Of course the new kid was going to end up next to him. Neighbor, seatmate, and now disrupting his car rides home with his dad."
