Summary
It's Valentine's day and Steve is lonely. He's mad at himself for even caring what day it is, but it's not like he can ignore it. It's been shoved down his throat for weeks and now that it's finally here, it's a hundred times worse. Every single one of his friends is either on a mission or on a date and here he is, home alone, not even able to find something to watch on TV that isn't swimming in hearts and flowers and he's fucking lonely.
Out of sheer desperation, needing some form of human connection no matter how tenuous, Steve finds himself clicking on to a live cam site, never imagining in even his wildest of fantasies that he might just find himself a Valentine after all.

Apparently, Bucky is really fucking good at hiding from the press.
Unfortunately, however, the press don't much like being hidden from, and if they can't uncover the truth, then it seems they're more than happy to speculate wildly instead.
Much to his dismay, Bucky isn't quite as ok with that as he might have hoped he'd be, as he'd promised Steve he'd be, only, if he doesn't get a handle on his feelings soon, there might be nothing left for them to speculate about...

Summary
As much as Steve was enjoying his blossoming relationship with Bucky, he would be the first to admit that things so far hadn't exactly been smooth sailing. So much so that he really should have been expecting it when the press saw fit to throw yet another spanner in the works.
Still, they'd got through everything else and Steve could only hope that they'd be able to make it past this setback too. Only, perhaps they wouldn't have to simply get through it this time, because for once it seemed as if they might actually have more to gain from the latest media whirlwind than they had to lose.
It still wasn't ideal, of course, but then nothing in life ever was, and yet, he was still here, Bucky was still here, and maybe, just maybe, he could dare to be optimistic about their future together.
