“You don’t want me, not the real me,” Tommy bites, voice strained as the lump in his throat grows. “I’m loud, and annoying, and mean. I swear and I break rules and I...I hurt people.” His voice wavers and he shudders out a shaky breath. He wants them to realize that they should just accept this version of him instead of wishing for something real. Because the reality is that Tommy is not a likable person, and he doesn’t try to be.
