It wasn’t that he didn’t like the job - the repetitive monotony of pouring drinks was oddly therapeutic and ensured that at least some of his clothes smelled of bean water rather than chemicals, and besides, it helped to pay his tuition. It was more that he disliked the people involved.

He wanted to be concerned about it, he really did, but given that he had managed to get through three days of classes, shifts, and lab time with barely a yawn he couldn't find it in himself to do so. He finished off another coffee, smiling as he called out the name and gracefully handed it over to the customer.
