Summary
“Have you ever kissed someone?” Hoyoung asks softly, gaze turned up to look at the sky. Pollution leaves the view from their apartment roof a haze of purple and orange clouds, lingering around buildings far taller than their own.
As Hoyoung turns looking for a response, Dongheon hurries to sit up, going for the beer they’d stolen from Hoyoung’s father. He takes a chug to avoid clearing his throat audibly or choking on his embarrassment and prays to god his face wasn't as red as it felt. Washing down the itch in his throat before testing his voice again, Dongheon then declares, “Yeah… Why?”

Summary
Yongseung’s phone vibrates in his jacket pocket, distracting him from his observations, and the book he has long been stuck on. With texts this late, he wasn’t going to be getting any more reading done anyway. Pulling the phone out, Yongseung quickly scans over the notifications.
[Meowzerrs] Omw. I'm so pissed right now.
[Meowzerrs] He just doesn't get me anymore and I'm so fucking tired :(Grateful he had turned down Gyehyeon’s offer of a drink, Yongseung stuffs his phone back into his jacket. Struggling with it initially as his hands work through trembles. He shuts his book with his other hand - this time with nothing between the pages to mark his spot.
Quickly, he slips out without resistance from the group. He’s unsure if he should've said goodbye - if it would've been the polite thing to do - but it's too late to go back and worry about being polite to the group. He needs to get home.

Summary
Riding up to a race can come with a lot. Mostly it’s warm touches, hair tussling and people who understand Yongseung’s smirk isn’t always cocky - it’s just nerves for the build-up of each race. It’s people who know Dongheon’s smack talk is hot air. In their home circuit, people have grown comfortable with the weight Dongheon throws around, and have no problems calling the man out for boasting before he’s had a chance to prove himself.
Sometimes, in unfamiliar circuits, the reputation Dongheon carries is enough to keep most away from them. They’re given space to stretch out, look cocky, make easy cash, and not come back.
But sometimes pride could be a bitter thing.

Gyehyeon’s playful praise hardens as Kangmin pulls in his realized feelings. “Did you change your mind?” he’s asked firmly.
Kangmin shakes his head quickly. “No,” he grabs Gyehyeon by the front of his leather jacket and digs his thumbs into the teeth of the zippers. “I just, think I would rather not talk after all.”
