That's until an anonymous person hired him to kidnap Albedo Kreideprinz, the infamous Alchemist known for his research in Mondstadt Institute of Alchemy, who is on the verge of a breakthrough that could change the future of Teyvat for a better or the worst.
While Kaeya thinks the job is just as easy as the previous ones, he soon realizes that he has underestimated his target. Kaeya is unaware that Albedo has been anticipating his arrival.

When the corpses of the disappeared people start to appear on the shoreline further from the crime scene, everyone is baffled by the injuries on the corpses, but Albedo remained calm throughout each case, making Kaeya feel suspicious of the Chief Alchemist.
On the night Kaeya has planned to confront the Chief Alchemist in his lab, Kaeya discovers that Albedo isn't what he seems to be. And that Albedo might be the answer behind the cases.

After Celestia repeatedly wages war on Khaenri'ah, the nation falls into the darkness, turning every living soul in Khaenri'ah into demons of the Abyss. After their King perishes in the war, Alberich Clan reigns the demonic nation with their son, Kaeya Alberich, crowned as the King of Khaenri'ah. Wielding the power of the Abyss, Kaeya continues to wage war against Celestia.
In their last attack, a red portal engulfs the King, and he's transported 800 years to the future. Kaeya's Abyss power depletes after his forcible journey to the future, rendering him defenseless against the Gods and their subordinates who chase after him.
Not knowing his way in the city and with his foes in hot pursuit, Kaeya seeks help from a nearby passerby, Albedo Kreideprinz, a college student.
With a determination to save his damned nation, Kaeya has to find a way to go back in time.
