“You heard me correctly, Ranpo. I would like to assign Atsushi-kun to be your partner,” Fukuzawa repeated passively.
“But I don’t need a partner!” Ranpo cried, “And I haven’t needed one for twelve years!”
Ranpo Edogawa was a solo detective; he has been for over twelve years.
