He had been coming to terms with the way he was for the last five years, as his body would no longer allow him to use his quirk full time, and he slowly dwindled into what he is now. He is still respected and utilized as a hero in the background. People seek his advice and opinions, and he continues to give to others in the ways he still can. He adores teaching his students, particularly his protege.
He no longer lives life on the front line, it's still difficult for him to know that there are people out there who could use their hero, All Might, and that he can't be the type of hero he once was for them. He is a champion of the other brave people who are committed heroes and hopes people will understand and forgive him for what he can no longer do.
