  Summary

  Together, they take Eddie’s torso and legs and raise him just far enough off of the ground to situate him neatly in the boat. Steve lets the kid step back while he arranges him— legs pressed neatly together, hands clasped over his chest in such a gothic manner that were he to see himself now, Eddie might laugh.
