Summary
Wen Kexing moves quietly and confidently even in the dark room. He opens his bag, closes it again, puts it away. Then he slips under his blanket, the mattress dipping and shifting underneath him before he finds a comfortable position. He stops moving eventually, his breath slowing down. For a moment, Zhou Zishu thinks that this will be it and he’s- disappointed. Relieved. He wants nothing. He hasn’t wanted anything for a long time.
Or: only one bed, two murderers too close to each other for comfort and a family of three in the making.

“If you only took me for a short ride, I’m sure that your time wouldn’t be wasted...”
“Not interested,” Zhou Zishu says, locking his phone and slipping it into his pocket before the content of the screen can be seen. “I’m married.”
Whatever terrible pick-up line was there next on Wen Kexing’s tongue, this at least blessedly makes him forget it. The silence lasts for about two seconds it takes Zhou Zishu to glance at his stupid love-stricken face and hit the window-closing button.
Or: one car, family-sized, and two men finally close enough for comfort.
