No one knows how Soulmates came to be, but somehow they did. They could be romantic, or platonic, but either way, they were the most important person in your life.
There are different kinds of Soulmarks, the ones that are permanent and never change from when you first got the Mark, and those that show up on both soulmates’ skin as they happen.
Permanent Marks and Empathy Marks.
There are two different kinds of Permanent Marks, Name Marks and Picture Marks. Name Marks show the name of your Soulmate on your wrist when you first meet them. Picture Marks show a symbol that represents your soulmate, again, on your wrist, and they show up when you are born. Then, there is the third. Which isn’t really its own thing. It’s both. A Picture Mark when you are born on one wrist, and a Name Mark when you meet them on your other wrist. These are called Advanced Permanent Marks.
Now, in the Empathy Mark division, there are, again, two (three if you count the Advanced). Both start to show up when you are three years old. The Pain Mark lets you feel what your soulmate feels, you get all of their cuts, bruises, all that jazz. Ink Marks are where anything drawn on the skin shows on the other.
