Summary
Eddie gazes down at him, and it’s then that Steve registers the sheer predatory nature of his form; the glint of his eyes, red in the moonlight - the shine of his teeth, sharp and extended. Even his skin is a different hue; an ashy color, like someone very pale who’d been coated in soot.
“I’m like them now, Steve.” He says. “Only better. Stronger. They changed me, and the only way I can keep them off you, give ourselves a shot of getting out of here in one piece, is by asserting my dominance. They won’t touch what’s mine, so they need to think I’ve claimed you.”
