Summary
Jake spends eight weeks in prison, tries meth, and is almost killed. He has nightmares, memories, thoughts, various feelings. Stuff he can’t control, but it’s stuff he can manage - for a small amount of time, anyway.
But then those nightmares start to become more realistic, more prominent, more frequent, and he finds himself doing what he never thought he’d do. But it makes him feel good, it makes him feel better, and he finds he can’t stop, even if he wants to.
A fairly short story about Jake’s struggles with PTSD and substance abuse after he gets home from prison.
