Cam turned back towards the tank. A beautiful smile tugged at her lips, there and gone like a flash of light on water. “It is,” she said, and Palamedes knew that the matter was settled.

Palamedes Sextus was determined to be on time for his appointment. He did his best to be prompt to his appointments - that was simply manners - but he was never early. Early implied eagerness, which in turn implied things like being willing to offer an extension, or funding. Crucially, he had never, in all his thirty three years of life, been late.

Summary
While their standards for beaches was admittedly low, the beach on Risa was stunning. White sand as far as the eye could see set against cerulean water so blue it hurt the eye to look at. The sun was shining, the waves were lapping soothingly against the shore, and Palamedes had just left to grab them all some drinks. It was a picturesque afternoon, which naturally meant that something was going wrong.
