Summary
Nakoma is now in his early twenties. He and Jack are returning from the settlement where the two men frequently trade. It is a ten day trip; one way. Adams’ cabin is on the other side of the mountain from where Nakoma’s village is located. That means that there is plenty of time for Jack to talk and boast about himself. Jack goes too far with his boasting and Nakoma calls him on it.
