Summary
Ingrid was almost on the other side of the large, wooden doors that serve as Edelgard’s shield. She was almost standing at Edelgard’s side with the two women that had fallen in battle, with different allies in a class that offered strong promises.
Ingrid was almost a Black Eagle, almost Edelgard’s knight—she was almost her love. Ingrid could have been on the other side of that door and she could have been facing Dimitri, the man who wipes blood from his face at her side.
She is his knight in the moment, the choices of the past holding no weight on the battle that rages around them.

“Don’t worry about it! You’re the exalt, I could hardly make you do laundry. Your time is better spent elsewhere.” Lucina tried to shoo his hand away, but her father already dunked it in the water.
“I think I can handle some laundry,” he said with a laugh that reminded her of home. “You are also the exalt, yet you run around camp late into the night working on odd jobs.”
Although it wasn’t a question, Chrom posed it as one. Lucina shrugged, looking down at her hands under the water. The river had a chill to it, so she brought them to the surface to warm them in the sun.

Summary
“I wrote down all the missing keys in every order I can think of,” Phi says, clearly displeased. She brings the paper over to Sigma where they stare at it.
He can barely read his daughter’s handwriting, but eventually he makes out the letters. “I see. Do you think it’s an anagram, then?”
“If it is, it’s a nonsense one,” Phi says, ripping the paper out of his hands before he can take another pass at it. Sigma is sure that his younger self would have snatched it back, but he’s too tired. If Phi wants to glare at a shitty puzzle, so be it.
