Jean sighs. “I’ll call Harry to come pick you up, you sit back down.” He says. It’s out of concern, but it feels like a threat.
God, no. Anything but that. You’re not ready to tell him. You’re not ready for your relationship with him, whatever it is, to end or change. You aren’t ready to get your heart broken, for him to abandon you. You aren’t ready to see him every day and pretend everything is okay when it isn’t.
Your eyes grow wide and you grab Jean’s arm tightly as he turns to walk away.
