Jesper Fahey couldn’t sleep.
This wasn’t a new thing, not really. Jesper could never sleep, even when he was a kid with two loving parents who tucked him into bed every night. Thinking back, he probably interrupted quite a few of his parents late night plans by running into their room at night, announcing that he wanted a story. So it was no surprise that his insomnia didn’t let up when he moved to the hustle and bustle of Ketterdam. Still, his jobs with Kaz often left him so exhausted that he would sometimes just collapse straight onto the bed, dead to the world for at least a few hours. The key word was sometimes.
OR
Jesper is having a hard time shutting off after the events of the auction. Luckily a certain merchling down the hall knows just the right words to calm him down.

Jesper snorted, “we’ve been together how long and you’ve only just noticed?”Wylan looked away, his cheeks flushing that gorgeous shade of red, “well I’m normally rather preoccupied whenever your shirtless.”
“Yes and here I am, shirtless, and you are very much not preoccupied.”

Wylan is a little shit and decides to tease Jesper by kissing all his scars instead of kissing him. Fluff and first I love you's ensue. Also, since its me, y'all are gonna be fed with the simp Jesper content hehe.

Wylan blinked, slowly putting down the sheet of music he’d been scribbling on for ages, “why?”
Jesper shrugged, “you’re in the barrel darling, you should know how to defend yourself.”

Jesper decides to teach Wylan how to shoot. Unfortunately for him, Wylan has a rather nice pair of hands and looks way too hot welding his gun.

Jesper just smiled, a small thing, a soft thing, a smile that was reserved for Wylan and Wylan alone.
He wanted to marry him.

Jesper decides to ask his boyfriend to marry him. He has a big plan and everything. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depends on how you look at it) for him, said boyfriend accidentally messes up those plans.

Jesper grabbed his wrist as Wylan turned to the door and he paused, arching a questioning eyebrow with a bemused expression. Jesper reached out to Wylan’s open shirt buttons, bending over to leave a kiss on each sliver of skin as he covered it back up with the crisp, white shirt, “this is just for me though, eh?” he murmured with a wink, pulling back to take in every inch of his delightful face.

He reached out with his good arm to lace their hands together, squeezing gently, “who knows,” he said softly, on the verge of a whisper, “maybe Kaz and Inej will get here soon, maybe we’ll be okay, but no matter what happens, no matter what the outcome, we do it together, alright? Just you and me, whether we make it out or not, it’s just you and me, always and forever, remember?”
