  There's a cold shiver on his back. There's an empty bed upstairs and unwashed dishes.

  Alternatively: Nothing in the world could have driven Tecchou so far up the wall so as to lose a fight against a child Jouno beat without breaking a sweat. Why did he fail? What was he thinking?
