Memories of long nights flashed before his eyes, the sound of her moans in his ears, the smell of her hair and sex in his nose.

Summary
Aegon wondered what Otto Hightower would do if the man ever learned that he was fucking his daughter. Would it dwarf the rivalry he already had with Daemon? His brother and the Lord Hand were both ambitious men, but where Daemon was wild, Otto was methodical. Would the man try to maneuver the situation to his advantage? He would not be the first man to throw his daughter at a prince, even a third son like me. The thought of marrying Alicent was nice; they wouldn’t have to hide their fucking. But hiding it is half the fun, all for the chance that we might be caught naked as our name days by some passing servant or maid.

Summary
As master of laws, he was supposed to be well versed in every detail of the laws that governed the realm, and the men working under him were all able and of good birth. But he had been pleasantly and woefully distracted in the fortnight since he assumed the office and filled the seat on the small council. Alicent proved to be a rapacious little minx, and the chambers of the master of laws proved to have a very thick wooden door and an expansive writing desk. They had fucked on it the day after his appointment.

Summary
The tapestries were massive, each twenty feet tall and thirty feet wide. It had taken the stewards the better part of an hour to hang one up on a bare wall, for there was no other way to display such a piece. Dragons and humans were embroidered on the borders, and the scenes depicted within were ones that he reckoned would blind a septon or give an aged noble a stroke. Men were fucking women. Men were fucking men. Women were fucking women. And both were fucking dragons. The renditions were so precise and lifelike that Aegon was sure that some of those faces were ones he knew, only to see that they were not when he moved slightly to the left and right.

Summary
Under the coverlets, Alicent could pretend that it was just the two of them, and that the world around them did not matter. There was no Red Keep here, no Iron Throne, no politics. It was only her, and Aegon, and his sleepy smile. His thumb traced idle circles on her hip, and she snuggled into his warmth, their legs tangled about each other, intertwined with the linen.

Summary
The Legate did not believe in omens and portents, in prophetic dreams and divination. It had been a dream from Daenys Targaryen that had led her father Aenar to abandon Valyria, to move his family and wealth to a small island outpost on the western edge of the Freehold called Dragonstone, to show cowardice in the face of the great families. The complete destruction of Valyria had been foretold, but the years had come and gone, and no such destruction came to the Freehold. And still the Targaryens remained huddled on that rock they called home, clinging to the belief that one day the Valyrian Freehold and the power it wielded would come crashing down. What fools we all are. He leaned against the stone of the battlement, still searching. Most still swear by the words of a mad daughter long dead, and I toil away in a futile effort to regain our standing.

Summary
“I can already see it,” Lyrmadora says. Her hand is heaven and hell wrapped in one, her palm and fingers stroking his hardness until its only her voice in his ear that anchors him to the world. “She would be inexperienced at first, not knowing what to do, not knowing what to want. All it would take to catch her interest is a soft touch here, a small compliment there, a passing glance. Something. Anything. You wouldn’t even need to think about it. Give her but a drop of the attention that the court showers your niece with. That’s it.”

Summary
The Tower of the Hand provided a view of the Red Keep’s garden, and Aegon saw that Queen Alicent was indeed sitting with her ladies, her son in her arms. As courtesy dictated, the conversation always returned to the queen, but it seemed that she never was truly a participant, and the distance could not hide the fact that the baby – his own namesake – was fussing more than anything else. The absence of Rhaenyra was keenly noticeable.
