“I wouldn’t say it’s bad, per se,” Dick replies, gazing down at the kid nestled against his chest. Now that he’s looking properly, he can see hints of his little brother in those small features. “But at least I can confidently say that he’s not dead.”

Summary
Dick feels the stirrings of hope in his chest as he finally places the familiarity. Hesitantly, he holds out a hand and slowly says, “Tim…?”
That little face breaks out into a smile, revealing a gap between his front teeth, providing more proof to the insane theory in his head. The child says nothing as they crawl out of the bundle of clothes, and Dick quickly grabs Tim (right?) before he can put his hands on the dirty ground.
“Tim,” he whispers, daring to believe.
