  Summary

       He knew he was different. The way he felt better when he hurt things with his spines was different, the way he couldn't make sounds like the strange creature who raised him was different, the way his chest had a large round lump in it until he grew up and it settled into his body shape was different, and the way the strange creature was constantly fretting about him was different. He had always been different, but what scared him now was that his friend was scared too.
