Summary
Rebecca Welton has just divorced Rupert Mannion. Wanting to leave the wake of disturbing and disparaging tabloids behind, Rebecca puts up a map of the North American continent and throws a dart. She will go wherever it lands. It lands at the junction of Route 400 and Route 59 in the bottom right corner of the state of Kansas, the hometown of a recently divorced Ted Lasso.

It’s been seven months since Rebecca returned to Richmond from Parsons, Kansas. Against her better judgment, she decides to give Rupert a second chance after the invalidation of their divorce papers as the result of a corruption case. Everywhere she goes, she sees Ted Lasso. First, in Amsterdam, then in London, and then in Germany, always in the form of a United States Marine guarding a US Embassy.

Summary
It's been five years since Ted and Rebecca first met and broke each other's hearts in Ted's hometown of Parsons, Kansas. Rebecca, still married to an increasingly abusive Rupert Mannion, is beginning to try to swim her way out of the mess that has become her life. Ted follows Beard to England to work for an American Football team there and once again, Ted and Rebecca's paths cross. This time, though, they don't let each other go.
