It didn’t matter. Aziraphale was going to find Crowley even if all the supernatural forces in existence decided to go against him.
One might ask why. Why? Because the few months of happiness they had together had given him far more meaning than the thousands of years that came before. Because trying to picture spending the rest of his existence without Crowley in it hurt so much it was almost physical. Because Crowley would have done the same for him, in a heartbeat, without the slightest moment of hesitation. Because he had failed him too many times before and refused to do it again.
Because Aziraphale loved Crowley more deeply than he himself could fathom at times and still believed that despite everything, in the end, love truly did conquer all.

Summary
Crowley wondered whether he was Orpheus or Eurydice in this situation. Was he the lover, finally reunited with the deceased object of his devotion? Or was he the beloved, pulled up from the land of the dead by a strength far greater than his own? Or was he both, somehow? He’d always been a creature of contradictions, after all.
Either way, he knew how the story ended. One of them would be dragged back to the darkness and the other left to live with the despair of knowing they could have saved them, had they not turned around, like Lot’s wife viewing the destruction of the city she was fleeing from.
But what if Orpheus never turned around? What if the gods never let them leave the underworld? What if they wandered forever in the world of shades, unable to move on? He wasn’t sure or not if that was a kinder fate.Series
