Summary
She wasn't in the mood to go back to her pathetic, lonely place. The rain and cold would've driven her crazy, and it wasn't like she had anything to distract her there. There was no point in going back to that place.
Soojin stared at her battered watch and bit her lips. It was seven o'clock, and she knew where she would go at a time like this.
Windy.
Lightning struck twice above her office. Soojin tucked her revolver inside her waist holster and grabbed her coat from the hanger. She took some of the files from her desk, courtesy of her ex-partner when she was still in the force, Byulyi, and the source of her headache for the past few days. Maybe she would get a fresh perspective if she worked on it in a new place.
(It would be nice to just…be. Something that she was able to feel whenever she came to Windy.)
Soojin locked the door and went on her walk across the town.

Soojin might feel empty and hopeless after being plagued by years of violence and nightmares, but there's always a place waiting for her in a run-down bar across the town.

"I'm scared," she said quietly. "Shuhua, too, even if she won't admit it. You heard about the serial killer, right?"
"The Butcher? Yeah, Soojin is working on the case, actually." Minnie frowned. "I’ll go with you and Shuhua. Don’t go out alone for now, okay? If I can't go with you or her, take Yuqi." The shorter woman might be a killer, but she was a killer on their side, so Minnie wasn’t afraid that she would snap and hurt them. What she was afraid of was that another killer was loose and killing indiscriminately. At least Yuqi just killed wife beaters and rapists, and while she didn't care enough to hide the mess, she did care enough not to shit where she eats, lest the cops come sniffing around.
"Sure, but I prefer your company."
"Clingy."
"Why are you making fun of your scared girlfriend?" Miyeon sulked.
Minnie dropped the trash bag in her hand. Her what? "My what?"
