At the same time that Tsumiki works on a snake, something a little more complicated than the previous animals, Satoru wonders if Megumi would have accepted his proposal if his sister hadn't been around.
The answer seems obvious, especially as he observes the serenity with which Megumi sleeps next to his sister, soft smile and relaxed features of someone who is feeling protected. It's interesting. Even though the boy is one who has a powerful hereditary power, it is Tsumiki who protects him from the harshness of the world with her sweet speech and friendly gestures.
And Satoru protects them both.

For a long minute, the office is completely silent, so quiet that Megumi thinks he hears the jujutsu students training on the other side of the courtyard, the sound of bamboo poles clashing, the instructions exclaimed by an experienced sorcerer, the animalistic growls of a shikigami. Megumi wonders if one day he will be the one outside, training in the winter sun.
It would be nice? Being with other people like him? Train without fear of someone looking at you as if you were a strange anomaly, a nuisance or an annoying thorn?
Maybe, when the time comes, your colleagues would like to share mochi at lunch?
When Gojo speaks again, he does so in the most outrageous and loud way Megumi has ever heard.Megumi is a growing child.
