Summary
AU where Ink found Dust before Nightmare did and, pitying Dust, took him in. He couldn’t fully understand how Dust felt, being soulless and never having known his own world. However he still understands loss, and guilt, and the “it’s what needed to be done” but questioning if that’s true. So as Dust once more struggles with his past, Ink tries comforting Dust.

Summary
There aren’t many true gods in the multiverse - while Ink and Error may not be able to die (as far as anyone is aware), they are not gods. Dream and his brother, Nightmare, are. And Reaper is. And that is it, the three of them and no more. It is isolating for each of them, though Nightmare has found comfort in his group. Dream and Reaper cross paths by happenstance, and after so long of both feeling alone they decide what is there to do but be each other's company?
