"Everything seems in order," Minerva mumbled to herself. She nodded one more time before scribbling down her signature. "Welcome aboard, Professor Longbottom," Headmistress McGonagall looked up and smiled proudly, her eyes crinkling warmly.

In the years following the aftermath of the Second Wizarding War, Neville had worked arduously to finish his studies properly and set the world back on its axis. After very short work as an Auror, he turned back to Hogwarts, almost as if he was unable to stay away.
Wading through compromises and balancing his marital life, all he had to do now was prove to himself that replacing Professor Sprout was a job he could live up to.
