Acheron blinks at her, then the drab horizon in front of them, engulfed in mist as they walk on endlessly in any hopes of finding their way out of the downpour that plagued this dreamscape in particular, which just had to be the one March was stuck in after getting separated from the other Astral Express members and the group they picked up in Penacony, save Acheron, apparently.
Finally, she answers. “No.” Just “no,” March laments. What is she supposed to do with that? She’s used to starting up conversations when things get awkward, but this girl hasn’t even given her a crumb to work with, not unless she wants to start pulling out a bunch of questions: ‘Where are you from?’ ‘Why do you always carry around that sword of yours?’ And, exasperatedly, the one she always found herself wondering, ‘Why do you look so emo?’
Or, March finds herself at the side of a stranger she no longer finds so strange.

Acheron’s placid expression slips. “Is something the matter?”
“No, no, it’s just,” March takes a breath to settle her voice, “you’re just so serious all the time. And I mean, it can be really cool in some photos, especially if they have more dramatic compositions, but here, it’s almost…” she pauses to think, “silly?”
“Silly?” the other woman parrots as though it was a word from another language altogether.
“Bet you’ve never heard someone call you that before, huh?” March says, smiling as she holds up her camera for another shot. “This time, relax. You don’t need to be the fierce, intimidating Galaxy Ranger with a sword that can cut down whatever gets in her path. You can just be whoever you want to be here. Just Acheron, if you want.”
