Alex looks down at the glasses as if he’d forgotten they were there and laughs. Now that Henry is looking properly, he sees that Alex’s gaze is a little glassy—he’s not drunk, but he’s definitely on his way there. “Two of these were for June,” he objects. “Besides, Your Majesty, it’s a party.”
“My proper title is ‘Your Royal Highness’; ‘Your Majesty’ is reserved for the Queen,” Henry says tightly on autopilot.
“Oh, thank you for the etiquette lesson,” Alex shoots back, his voice full of sardonicism.
“You’re welcome.”
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
God, Alex is… he’s… insufferable. Henry is suffering.OR: After Henry's family is captured by an evil dictator, he's sent into the Prince Protection Program where Agent Ellen Claremont assigns him to blend in at the safest location she can think of: her house.

Summary
The secretaries and Generals milling in and out of the room with clipboards and Bluetooth headsets glare at him, probably wondering what the King’s boytoy is doing hanging around in a government building, but… well, Alex literally could not give less of a shit.
“I’ll be out here if you need me, baby,” he says in a low voice so they won’t be overheard. “I love you.”
Henry exhales shakily. “I love you too,” he replies, rolling his shoulders back and jutting his chin out. Alex has always found Henry’s transformation from his boyfriend to the King a wonder to watch, but it’s never been more stark of a difference than it is now. With his jaw set, Henry nods to Shaan and Zahra and then he disappears through the door with a swipe of the PPO’s I.D.
Or: a year and a half since Henry was put into the Prince Protection Program, he is ruling over England as King with his royal consort, Alex, by his side. After a stressful day saving the nation, Alex decides that what Henry really needs is to surrender control for the night and allow Alex to take care of him.
