Summary
He cursed under his breath. Rin was catching up to him. He might have to forego sleeping during the day, or getting closer to any human settlement at that. Smaller communities closer to the forest, like these two last villages, gave Rin an opportunity to taunt Yoichi, make him regret running away from him. He kept his ear out for any rumours about a stranger who only travelled at night, anything that could link him to the beast, but nothing came up.

Sae watched his outburst speechless. I don't care and why are you so offended were the things he wanted to say, but he couldn't help but focus on stuff his brain apparently deemed more important. Like Yoichi's disheveled state and the fact it was his first time that day seeing his face completely bare. He looked worn out, and the skin under his eyelids was dark, but his pupils were bright and indignant. He had a few grass blades clinging to his messy hair, still being swayed by the momentum of his jolt. He should have looked fucking stupid like that; in fact, he did, yet Sae couldn't help but be oddly bewitched at the sight.
