Summary
She breathes a sigh that she can feel through her bones, shucks off her coat so it falls in a heap around her feet – which Ten will scold her about later, but he’s over in the other apartment, so it’s fine for now – sheds her shoes and tosses her bag in the direction of the living room couch, expecting the muted thump of cotton canvas against polyester in response and instead earning herself a pained "ow!" from a decidedly human body.
Thirteen freezes, flicks the lights on, and is met with a mess of pale limbs draped across the couch, blinking blearily up at her through a lopsided fez and floppy brown hair.
She stares at him for a while before saying far too incredulously “were you sleeping?"
(or: thirteen and eleven talk at the end of a long day.)

Summary
“We don’t have the money for a cat!” Ten exclaims, which is a completely sane and realistic point to make, but in the face of Eleven’s giant sad eyes everything sounds like the most unreasonable statement in the world. “We don’t know where she’s been, we don’t have the resources — and where would we even put her?”
“My bed!”
His jaw is starting to hurt from how hard he’s grit his teeth together. “ That’s not happening.”
Eleven pauses. “Thirteen’s bed?”
“Look , we can’t keep her and that’s final. We just don’t have the space.”
Eleven looks incredibly distraught at that, and Ten thinks it is remarkably unfair to be feeling this amount of guilt for being the only reasonable person in the room.
(or: eleven gets a cat, and ten tries his very hardest not to like her.)
