Kim saw Chay's eyes flicker to the front door. Chay was very many things, all of them important and precious, but a fighter was not one of them. The odds of Chay managing to outmaneuver Kim in a dash to the door were very, very slim.
Besides, even if Chay made it that far, he'd already changed the locks from the inside.
