Summary
The human body is not meant to withstand certain things.
Perhaps mage's magical abilities gives them a bit of an advantage, a higher tolerance to what they could endure. You’ve seen Savanaclaw students go down hard enough to snap their necks yet they bounce back up seconds later. Though, surely there have to be limits.
Now seems like one of them.
A 'what if' scenario in book 4, where you end up with a broken arm in Octavinelle.

Summary
You stand before the Magic Mirror, willing the butterflies in your stomach to calm down. Morning’s breakfast threatens to make a resurgence as you stare into the rippling reflection of Scarabia’s dorm. In flashes of blue skies and palm trees, you catch your reflection. The purple Octavinelle dress shirt looks alien on you, though it was the only suitable option after your last one got torn up from your crash landing. Your casted arm hangs in a cotton sling, secured gently against your chest. You can feel your heart thumping at the tips of your fingers.
You really don’t want to do this.
A continuation of my previous fic 'On the Seafloor' : A 'what if' scenario in book 4, where you end up with a broken arm in Octavinelle, leading to various changes once you return...

Summary
Azul stops, which makes you stop. Jamil is a few paces behind both of you, arms folded, unmoving.
“Hm?”
Jamil looks up. His gaze is dark and cold. Your stomach churns as you gulp.
“I’m sorry,” he says, not sounding sorry at all. “I can’t let you both stay here. It’s time you go back to the sea.”
The final part of the Scalding Sands re-written series.
