He did believe his friends when they said they weren't able to come to his birthday and that they meant well – they would never even think of hurting him – they had lives of their own after all. They had other relationships to maintain, they had significant others, and as much as they loved Ezreal, they also loved their partners.
Ezreal wished he also had one.
For the longest time now, he'd been watching from the sidelines as people around him either found themselves their perfect match or got married, even. Lux and Jinx had been dating for years now. Sett and Aphelios had just realized their long-term stupidity and finally started dating. And Ezreal had literally just been invited to Senna and Lucian’s wedding last week.
All this time, hiding his sorrow under a sweet smile for his friends as they got into happy relationships, Ezreal had been watching everyone around him fall in love but him.
