Summary
“We'll be demanding finer cord from the Harpers tomorrow. And you'll share my tent, tonight and however long you plan to keep up this melodrama.”
“Astarion—”
“I’ll not have you trussed up out in the open, in the Shadow-Cursed Lands, of all places.” Something in Astarion’s look quieted him. “I’m not leaving you to the darkness.”
When the Urge is denied, it does not go quietly.
Or: A series of vignettes depicting the nights and days after the Dark Urge resists his father's call in the Shadow Cursed lands. This work will be a lot of angst, a lot of hurt, and a little comfort, as the tadfools put their worms together to help their friends get a good night's rest.

Summary
He’d expected the pain. And the carnage. And the helplessness. But he hadn’t expected the shame: ever Bhaal’s puppet to the last, he was forced to bear witness to a macabre play of his crimes against the backdrop of his blooded eyelids. Because of course — of course — Bhaal would treat his prodigal son to one last nightmare, made all the more monstrous by its reality. Hundreds ended by his hand rendered little more than faces warped in shock and horror — for most, the only scrap of memory he’d ever have of them.
It turns out Bhaal does not take kindly to being told "no."
